Last night as I tried to fall asleep, I experienced several peaks of the pain in my skull. They would come maybe two or three times in a five minute period, and last for several seconds each. The pain during those few seconds was excruciating. I haven’t ever felt such sensations. I was worried I may have had to go to the hospital if it got any worse or of longer duration than that. Plus, it has felt really strange to move my head. Not necessarily painful, but if I move it the tiniest amount, it is like trying to move a hinge on a door the squeaks and needs oiled. If you move the door a tiny amount, the hinge binds and sticks.
Thankfully when I woke up today the pain wasn’t as severe, but I still do have the headache nonetheless. Again, it just isn’t normal for me to have headaches that last more than an hour or two. Also today, a little while after I woke up, I felt really congested, and my ears and eustachian tubes feel clogged (more than usual), plus my fatigue is slightly worse as well. It actually feels like there are bugs moving around in my ear, though I know it’s just some kind of fluid. It’s happened before, when I first got Epstein-Barr and when I get a cold or flu.
The supplements I’m taking are regarded as being very safe, so unless it’s some kind of coincidence, my recent headaches and other symptoms must be related to the virus, or maybe the process of my immune system fighting it. Some of the users at the HHV6 foundation discussion forum did say that my experience does sound like a herxheimer reaction.
